Classes
Monday morning Gentle Yoga is soft hatha yoga taught by Gwen. It focuses on loosening the joints, gently stretching the muscles and relaxing the whole person. It is a drop in class suitable for every age and ability and payment is by donation.
Alexander Technique Classes take place on Monday from 3.30 to 4.30pm with Fredrico. He runs these classes in courses for different groups of people, for example musicians etc. If you are interested in Alexander Technique please enquire about future courses.
The Chakra yoga and Dance Workshops on a Monday night are suitable for people with some previous experience of yoga/meditation. The group is never more then 7 people and it is facilitated by Gwen. Over 7 weeks the group focuses on the bodys main energy centres. Each week a different chakra or energy centre is focused on through movement, colour, sound and other devices, leading the participants through an experiential journey of their physical and energy bodies. These are deeply healing and transformative classes and pre-booking is essential.
Intermediate yoga is taught by Gwen on Tuesday evening. Its a Hatha yoga class based on the Sivananda system. Suitable for fit beginners or those with some previous experience of yoga.
On Wednesday mornings from 8 to 8.45am, Kieran (Under the Spiritual direction of Marjo Oosterhoff) runs a Mindfulness Meditation (Vipassana tradition), which includes 30 minutes of sitting meditiation, followed by 10 minutes of walking, then chanting the Buddhas sutra on loving kindness.
Lunch time on Wednesday Gwen leads simple Relaxation Sessions which include some light stretches, breath work and a lying down guided meditation.
On Wednesday evenings local artist Miriam runs Creativity Workshops. over the course of 5 weeks various avenues of art are explored, such as writing, painting, drawing, sewing and movement. No experience is needed, and all are welcome. The main focus is on enjoying the creative process in a safe environment, and with this new found confidence to bring more creativity and happiness into our everday lives. Materials are provided.
On Thursday at lunch time we have introduction to Meditation where Gwen facilitates a non-denominational guided mediation.
Gwen runs a weekly Chakra Dance Class as part of an 8 week pre-booked course. The classes work with loose free-form yoga and dance. They are suitable for men and women of all ages and fitness levels and are a lot of fun!
